    Hedda Hopper

Here's a find by Stan of the late American actress and gossip columnist, (born 2 May 1885 in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, USA; died 1 February 1966 in Hollywood, California, USA). Hedda began acting in silent movies in 1915, appearing in more than 120 movies over the following twenty-three years, usually portraying distinguished-looking society women. She was known as "Queen of the Quickies". Known for her gossipy comments and movie star interviews, Hopper debuted as host of her own radio program, "The Hedda Hopper Show", on 6 November 1939. Hopper was also known for her trademark hats.
Trivia note: Her son, William Hopper, became famous as investigator Paul Drake in the "Perry Mason" (1957) tv series.
