Lupita Amondi Nyong'o (born March 1, 1983 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican-Kenyan actress and film director. Lupita's had her first feature film role in Steve McQueen's historical drama 12 Years a Slave (2013), for which she earned the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, among numerous other awards and nominations. Nyong'o is the first Kenyan and first Mexican actress to win an Academy Award. In 2014, Nyongo was named "The Most Beautiful Woman" by People and "Woman of the Year" by Glamour.
