Taraji P. Henson (born 11 September 1970 in Washington, D.C., USA) is an American actress and singer who currently stars as Cookie Lyon on the Fox musical drama series Empire. Henson has appeared in such films as Baby Boy (2001), Hustle and Flow (2005), Four Brothers (2005), The Karate Kid (2010) and The Good Doctor (2011) to name a few. For her work in the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (200Taraji was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
