Diane Joyce Humetewa (Born December 5,1964) Is a United States District Judge of the U.S. District of the state of Arizona. Serving in that post from December 2007 to August 2009. Confirmed in 2014 as the 1st Native-American woman & enrolled tribal (Hopi) member to serve as a federal judge. Humetewa is one of 3 Native Americans is U.S. history to serve this position. She was thought to be chosen to replace late Supreme Court Justice Antolin Scalia by Pres. Obama.
