    Alexis Smith

Here's a find of the late actress (born Gladys Smith, on 8 June 1921, in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada; died 9 June 1993). Among her many roles she played 'Carol Wharton' in "The Young Philadelphians" (1959), 'Allie Walker' in "Beau James" (1957), and 'Nora Nesbitt in "Of Human Bondage" (1946). She won Broadway's 1972 Tony Award as Best Actress (Musical) for "Follies." She was nominated in the same category in 1979 for "Platinum."
