    Amelia Earhart

Found this classic Historical fake by Droop Along of the pioneer female aviator (born Amelia Mary Earhart 24 July 1897, in Atchison, Kansas, USA). As the first woman to fly solo non-stop across the Atlantic she received the Distinguished Flying Cross from the U.S. Congress, the Cross of Knight of the Legion of Honor from the French Government, and the Gold Medal of the National Geographic Society from President Herbert Hoover. On January 11, 1935, Earhart became the first person to fly solo from Honolulu, Hawaii to Oakland, California. She mysteriously disappeared over the Pacific Ocean during a circumnavigational flight in 1937.

On this day, 18 June 1928, Amelia Earhart became the first woman to make a trans-atlantic flight. Since she had no experience of multi-engine or instrument flying. Wilmer Stultz and Louis Gordon would pilot the tri-motor Fokker named the "Friendship" with Amelia having the official title of "commander" of the flight. In 1932 she became the first woman (and second person) to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in her single engine Lockheed Vega and the first person to cross the Atlantic twice by air.

Hee, hee, hee! These would make good tools indeed pal! Believe it or not, a couple of years after completing my undergraduate work I thought I might like to give teaching a go, so I began working on a Master of Education degree with a history concentration along with teacher certification. After working in the classroom, in both Middle and High School, as a teacher's assistant and student teacher, I decided that it really wasn't my cup of tea. The PC constraints were a bit to confining for my taste. Imagine that! :P Cheers!
