Problems with moderators (?!)

The only problem I'm having is with someone who has moderator privilege.

For the information of viewers, all images containing the words "teach me to fuck the news", "Busty Labor" and "*Brand Power* Helping you fuck better!" were created by me.

A couple of days ago, I was informed that a number of the images that I had posted at another forum had been "found" there and copied here (). No real problem with that. There's an old saying: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It would be nice, though, to receive a kind word or two in recognition for work that I've done. I joined The Famous Board, read the rules and discovered that, indeed, many of the images that I'd posted at another web forum had been copied with no attribution of their source.

In each of the topics where my work was featured, I posted the following message:

Some people might say that posting the above message, in an identical manner in a dozen threads amounts to flooding. I dispute that. For whatever reason, though, all my messages were deleted. Yesterday I repeated the process. I have since discovered that all, but one, of these messages has again been deleted. In the one remaining case, the message has been edited to read:

Look at any of these threads and see if I'm credited as the fakir of the works?

I don't expect that this posting of mine will survive, just as I don't expect the genius who edited or deleted my earlier posts to come forward. I don't expect any recognition or apologies. I would, however, expect the moderators should have a good hard look at what has happened. Needless to say, I may have to privately message the moderators to inform them of what has happened.

I am the one who deleted your first set of messages. You were informed of this via a PM, which you read.
They were nothing more than spam, and since you did not bother to make a good first post your reading of the rules was not as complete as you claim.
I know nothing about the second set of posts, but had I been the one to find them I would have banned you on the spot!
Keep it up and you will be a former member of this forum.

You really have accomplished nothing by this post, but get our attention and prove that you didn't read the rules very well. As far as getting credit for your fakes, in principle I agree with you. However, your varied logo/tag is on the fakes. If you for sure want people to know that you (mourn_in_glory) made the fake, then put that name on it. That way people will know regardless. There are plenty of fakes that have been posted over at Aussie, other sites and here, that haven't given the original fakir credit. I encourage people to give the credit when known, but if they don't and only indicate that they found the fake, there is really no fowl. You're really getting bent out of shape for nothing. I've seen many of my fakes posted on other sites without recognition. So what? My logo is on the fake, and anyone knows who made it whether I'm given credit or not. Big deal! I could just see me going on to different sites and making posts saying, hey any fake with a "Gryphondo Fake" logo on it is mine. Not! How silly that would be.

I don't suppose you give credit to the photographer whose picture you used for the body shot in your fakes. Nor do you give credit to the one who took the head shot. Further more, did you get permission from either to use their photos? No. If someone simply finds your fake somewhere on the net and reposts it as a found fake there is no fowl. Again, I would encourage members to do so, but if they don't they've not committed a sin. If you want to take it personal and get shook up about such small things, that's your prerogative, but if you really want to insure that people know that it's "mourn_in_glory" that created the fake, just put "mourn_in_glory" on the fake. :thumbsup: This isn't rocket science mate. :partyman:

I do not believe for one second any moderator on this board would go to the work of calling you a whiny little bitch. We take too much pride in banning people to go to all that work.

If I had seen the posts before Bill, I would have deleted them, too.

I know, for a fact that many of my fakes, which I make and post almost exclusively for this site, are posted on several different websites and I don't get bent out of shape when they get posted somewhere other than where I originally posted them. Look, this isn't academia, users don't have to create an annotated bibliography of a fake. Moreover, our users have been very good at letting it be known that the fakes they post were found elsewhere and take no credit for producing them, which is all that we ask in the least. So as long as you put your logo on the fake, and the user who posted it doesn't take credit for making it himself, it should be reasonably ok. Should they cite the faker? Sure, but as long as it is evident who made it, that they failed to mention the faker's name in a post shouldn't be a big deal either. Also making multiple posts complaining about it doesn't help things either. I highly suspect that this whole mess was simply a method to spam and draw attention to you and your website, anyhow so that they got deleted is all well and good.

[Edit] Also, even though it was wrong, I did laugh at the fact that he said someone edited his post to make it state he was a whiny homo, I nearly spit out all of this morning's coffee. :laughing6: :lol:

I don't have a dog in this hunt because I am not really into the fake business. I trust my mates who patrol that section on a regular basis. I know them all and know that they are all good guys who labor long and hard to keep the board running smoothly - and they do it gratis! I also know that any one of them would go out of their way to be helpful and fair to all members.

But there is something that I don't know. . . . . .

We're not going to let you spam the board....however, if you want to thank each poster for liking your work enough to post it, that's fine. Go for yourself.

If you're trying to warn us that someone has hacked us to gain moderator abilities, and is using them to persecute you...ok...thanks. But I gotta wonder why they have singled you out, amidsts all the members of the board???

If you're trying to say a moderator is persecuting you...I, personally, am comfortable in categorically saying you are wrong, and any such further accusations SHOULD earn you a banning. Trust us when we say that a moderator is not doing this.

What that leaves....well, there are few other conclusions out there.

I say you are welcome to stay on the board, and participate by posting your own creations. If such behavior as you claim continues, we'll go from there, wherever the evidence leads us.

Actually you have been given considerable leeway by us. I've seen people banned for less. For the record, I deleted the "whiny little homo" post, because although amusing to say the least, it was considered spam as well. We have over 55 thousand registered members, and I think that the vast majority of them would disagree with you. However, I suspect that your impression is based on emotional unclarity, rather than critical objective thinking. Members who give respect are given their due by us and we generally tolerate a fair amount of BS before whacking someone. You are proof of that.

We on the mod team do not suffer newbie fools very long who initially come up in here and start breaking our rules. As I've said, I've seen people banned for less than what you've done. You do not have to place anything on record, because in the long run most people wouldn't remember your record or really care. There was no foul done to you here. I've made my friendly suggestions to you on how to alleviate the perceived problem and you've seemed to agree. In my book, that's being helpful. I think you'll find that the criticism you bore the brunt of, was born out by the way you chose to handle this in the first place.

The bottom line is this, you've made your point and we've made ours. My friendly suggestion to you would be to quit while you're behind, because you're not getting anywhere rehashing this. If you want to be a member here, we welcome you to follow the rules and make worthwhile posts. If you'd rather post your own work here, by all means do so. If you want, I'll add your name to the fakirs who post here list, and in that way the fake hunters will generally give you a few days to post your own work when they find it. If they don't, let me know and I'll rectify it. Let this BS go and have some fun mate. Life is too short to sweat the smalls about this. :partyman:

Any other post's regarding this matter will be deleted period and so will you. You've been given a fair amount of slack, but it seems that you can't resist hanging yourself. I've been more than patient with you and have attempted to be reasonable, but I will no longer tolerate anymore of your rant. I won't tell you this again.
