I'm only getting some of the notifications to topics I'm watching. Like this morning I got 5, but when I view watched topics, there are another dozen or so that have had updates, but no notification sent out. Yet on other days, I get notifications for these same topics. Any idea what's wrong? :?

Though, sometimes, you may get updates on a topic that we've had to delete a post from.
Can't understand why you'd not get notified when they are updated though.
Maybe one of the other mods can help more.

IIRC, changing the titles of threads can "unsubscribe" members.
