Are Avatars Not Allowed?

I’ve noticed a lot of talk here about signatures, which do add color and effect, but it’s really the avatar that most identifies with a member and can express his personality. Furthermore, avatars are smaller and less demanding on bandwidth than signatures. For these reasons, avs are present in almost all boards.

I searched and couldn’t even find a topic on avatars in this section. So why aren’t there any avatars on this board?
