She was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for its October 1977 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Mario Casilli. Her pictorial was titled "Invitation to the Dance", with shots of her in a dance studio nude. Kristine Winder is a pseudonym. Winder used a pseudonym because she did not want her father to find out, but the name change did not prevent this. Several families in Vancouver with the Winder last name received obscene phone calls from people across North America looking for "Kristine Winder" and the local news reported on this. Kristine had spent seventeen years doing up to five hours dance training a day but given the then lack of artistic opportunity in Vancouver, she ended up as a receptionist. She died of breast cancer in 2011.
