A few days ago my system was attached from this site by a ransomware bug tied to a pic file. Noticed a number of "attachments" recently. I'm not a computer jockey so this cost a bunch of bucks to clean off.
Thought you should know. Seems some posters don't have the best intentions. Ya think!
Do you remember what picture or host was used?
Most of the hosts use pop ups, but if there's a nasty one doing the rounds, we can ban it.
I don't remember the picture but I believe it was in the "Celebrities" setion, a recent addition about a week ago.
Ransomeware is pretty frightening, mine came with lots of Police badges and looked very official.
It even had a picture of me at my computer. Yes it can take over your webcam.
Don't panic even tho' it locks your computer.
Go to the Windows Defender site here:-
Download Windows Defender Offline here :-
Put it on a CD Disc.
If you are bitten by ransomeware shut down your computer.
Reboot_BUT_keep hitting F8 while rebooting and tell it to reboot from disc.
Usually Windows Defender will kill this bug.
So download Defender NOW, just in case.
