Late to post, but I don't use torrents anymore. The few times I have, I've been unlucky with them. Fortunately, my ISP back then would not release user names to people/companies accusing users of downloading. There are many baiters on torrent sites that post material from their clients (adult material, theatrical movies, music and game makers) looking for copyright infringers and lawyers that look to get money from offenders.
An old friend of mine still uses them and has never had a problem.#-o
