Amanda Tapping (born 28 August 1965) is an English-born Canadian actress, producer and director. She is best known for portraying Samantha Carter in the Canadian–American military science fiction television series Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. She also starred as Helen Magnus in the Syfy Channel series Sanctuary.

As Brino said, that's actually the second half of season 10. For the last few years Sci-Fi has been splitting the show, running the first half during the summer and the second half in winter. This avoids the heavy competition of the standard fall-starting shows. And they've also cut the seasons from 22 shows to 20, following the trend with cable series to have very short (7-13 episode) seasons. This trend started with British TV shows, where they do "series" rather than "seasons". I just finished watching "NY-LON"; the whole show was 7 episodes long, and it wasn't yanked early for being a snoozer (though it was).
