Aargh. A bit of a mess there. I don't like this.
Thanks butler bill
*sigh*
There goes 99% of the archive here. May as well wipe the board and start anew.
I have a lot of the celeb stuff I posted saved somewhere. It's a matter of finding hosts I'm happy with and reposting over time.
It's not the end of the world. New stuff will still be posted and if anyone wants stuff that's gone, they only need to ask the poster.
There's a full list of the sites that may be affected by this in the link above.
I'm just curious about the safety of even going on these sites to pull my stuff from them? Think that might be necessary or leave them there? Not much in my "registered free account." And from all I've just read, more sites can be affected.
Upix.me - check it
recently started using Imgur. Is that approved host? Imagevenue seems to lose some of my pics
Check it out, it seems to me to be non spammy, easy to use, etc. Thanks!
Asking is fine, but following through may not be so easy. We're going to lose all the ImageBam and ImgBox thumbnails, so identifying what content needs to be restored will become challenging for the original poster with no visual references. So yes, you can ask me to restore a particular photoshoot of some woman, but how am I supposed to know which pictures in my archives are the relevant ones in order to find and replace them for you? I've got all pictures named by the woman depicted, but other details (event, date, photographer, magazine, & c.) are spotty. I've posted over 200,000 pics here, and my memory isn't that good.
I encourage folks to start making their requests for rehosting now, when the content is still easily identifiable.
Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems imgur only allows a link back to the site to the uploaded images. There is no means of copying a code for forums. Reminds me of my request for sendvid.
One can download a .zip file of the images from the site. That was different. But you'd still have to use another host to get the thumbnails for previews.
Apparently so.
I never got a page like that.
I'll have to see if it's my security settings, operating system, etc.
Thanks chumwithrum.
It just wasn't compatible with my old, main, Mac mini and the old OS. I could do one image at a time.
Just checked on my newer Mac with newer OS and it works fine. I still don't get the image user interface you got, but I had 8 images and I see you had 60. I get no ability to change the thumbnail size. But since the majority of users use Windows machines, it's probably just fine.
This is a different screenshot than the 8 image one but same interface showing.
Probably just the difference in your operating system and mine and maybe the browser. I'm using Firefox 48.02 with El Capitan OS.
I temporarily put the link on here just to test it.
IHG doesn't work well with it for me. Got three of the 8 images.
I didn't have to shut my security add ons down either which is very good!
Good luck!
