What's the difference between a "Quick Post" and a "New Post"?

What's the difference between a post with a blue tab and a post with an orange tab?

What is the purpose of the polling option? When is it used?

Post reply opens a new window for your reply....quick reply does not(but you don't have the emoticon helper, or the html aides. Orange color is new posts since you were last here...blue tabs are old posts.

Polls are normally deleted after a while. As most are just plain silly and make the thread look untidy.
They are just for fun really.
