    Celebsdb hotlinking message

Now I am still kind of new at this and not very tech-smart. but all of the recent sudden i get tons of these Hotlinking messages instead of pictures. Am I doing something wrong or is there another solution?

    Thanks

Can you give us a link and the circumstances that produce these messages?

Yes! Your reply is one :

    http://www.famousboard.com/celebsdb-...42.html#485738

This gives me a red box where you would normally have an image under your post. The box says "Hotlinking Sucks"

It really seems to happen with any image hosted on this board.

    Thanks for helping!

Ok, I am feeling really stupid here. I have cleared the cache in each browser, made sure cookies were all deleted, ran ccleaner and tried two other browsers...alas, I am getting nothing here.

I apologize but I don't understand the concept of a "bad referer" yet. I'll look into it. But really, my laptop is running pretty basic stuff.

Any pointers are appreciated, and thanks for taking the time you all have.

Ok, it was a bad referrer. I found a firefox add-on that took care of it. Really, if it weren't for the problems I'd never learn anything

    Thanks for your help.

Any right-clicking on pics for me comes up with the HTML document file to save.... perhaps I need to jump thru a few hoops myself. I always used the old refresh trick here to get the file names and bypass the automatic .bmp, but this is a pain.
    Sig pic gone.

i have this issue too, i think its only with ff tho. but i think its far from a "major pain".

maybe someone should make a sticky about this issue, as a noob seems to post a new thread about it every few months...

I think I'll take that as an insult.

The suggestion to "Save Page As.." thru Firefox would be gladly tried if right-clicking on a pic even offered that option!

No answers yet. Perhaps IE is the way to go.

Right clicking doesn't offer the "Save Page As" option. To get the "Save Page As" option, click "File" on the left hand corner of your Toolbar. Then save the pic as jpeg. I use Firefox and it works fine.
