how exactly do you use the search engine...............it appears every work I typed in the search box is not found......broadened my search and also narrowed it

I'm not sure what will finally come of the sites, but EVERY link I've ever clicked on for rapidshare.de has been dead for nobody knows how long. However, only some links I find for rapidshare.com are dead; most links are still active. Since no one seems to know what will come of the .com, I haven't renewed my premium account. Fortunately, I've been able to download whatever I want for free, I just have to wait between 30 and 90 seconds before I can begin, and I can only DL one thing at a time. It's not very convenient, but it's not as bad as waiting 5 minutes to 5 hours between downloads of 100mb or more like the free access used to be.

But I digress. I haven't had much success finding anything with rapidshare-search-engine. I prefer www.filestube.com and www.filesearch.gr. If I can't find something on FilesTube, I try FileSearch and usually get what I'm looking for.

I'm ok with RS. But thereagain I've uploaded enough (almost 400 files at 10 GB) to almost be able to use their service for free. And stuff does get taken down. So what? I can't complain. There may be copyrighted content.

It would be interesting for someone to take a law suit against RS (or the complainers) about the copyright issue. Afaik, ALL sites 'say' their material is copyrighted, but in truth probably less than 10% actually is. Copyrighting material costs a lot of money, and most sites don't have the resources.

If RS state that a particular link is 'suspected to be illegal content' then it should suffice to show then the 2257 statement of the site concerned.

I really don't know what anyone is worried about. If they do try to find and remove copyrighted content, they'd have to look pretty damn hard.

Example

No Doubt's greatest hits album "The Singles" or Nelly Furtado's "Loose" could have downloads with filenames like this:

ND_TS.rar
NF_L.zip

To prove my point, there are hundreds of things that this could be... like:

Nordic Dancers - The Steps
Nineteen Firehouses - Lascivious

It would take them years to download everything, crack the passworded archives, and remove the content from their servers. By that time, there'd be a whole new metric fuckload of stuff for them to screen through. It just won't happen.

I personally think rapid share is fine for the way I use it,I upload a couple hundred fakes or a movie or music send it to whoever........they recieve it no problem.If its deleted later ..so what...once my buddy got the links and downloaded what was sent ...thats all that matters.
It works for me in that sense.......and lets be fair......
people complaining about a service that is free is being a bit harsh

Well if it means anything to anybody, I just renewed my premium membership account for another 6 months while the US Dollar is somewhat strong compared to the Euro. Last time I bought 6 months it cost me about $55. This time it was only $38.

my results are much better JimmyLegs. i have a 1.5 MBit/s speed limit with my net connection. i generally max out at about 183 Kb/s. with rapidshare i get around 50-85 Kb/s with ANY mirror almost all the time. with megaupload/megarotic i usually max out my connection.
