    Fair Warning

    Boys and Girls. . . . .

I am giving fair warning to all customers that I have had an assfull of "sorry if there are any duplicates" etc. in the message sections of your posts. I am sympathetic to those who check and overlook something. I have done that myself. But I have absolutely no use for the sloths who are too fucking lazy to bother to check. I'll be damned if I will take my valuable time to check for you. I am not your fucking baby sitter. When I see that kind of message I will immediately dump your post. If you persist I will ban you.

its always a bad start when the first thing that is typed is a blatant lack of regard of the rules .

In preparation of my post to the Lynda Carter fakes thread I downloaded the entire thread and compared it to my collection of Lynda Carter fakes so I wouldn't be posting any duplicates. In the process of doing this I discovered 15 duplicates that already existed in the thread and it's only a 12 page thread. I've already submitted a post about those duplicates in the proper thread. In one instance, the duplicate was even on the same page as the original post! That's just plain lazy!! I'll grant you that doing what I did is time consuming but rules are rules. You guys do what you must. I'm behind you 100%.

Unfortunately...most of those were mine from when I first joined. Boy, did Gryph have a handful with me those first weeks.

i've never shied away from "sanitizing" a thread, even long ones, but that is one i'll steer clear of as far as sanitizing is concerned.

it'd actually work better if several mods split up the workload as it would get done a lot faster.

I understand that some image comparison programs can generate tables with objective information about pictures for easy comparison. Perhaps the people who made these to compare the entire thread can then upload them for other users? So you won't need to download the entire thread again, but just update since the last one posted. Could also help with finding pictures in long treads that you do not have yet.

Alternatively, a 'download all' button would be nice. But that would probably generate a lot of traffic due to laziness and abuse, and would not work for externally hosted images.

I guess I have a philosophical adversion to spoon-feeding our archives to people. We keep duplicates and bad posts to the most minimal humanly possible and sorted to individual people. I think each mod has their own system of keeping track what the hell is going on, trying to standardize a system for everyone would be a nightmare. We want participation, and making things too easy would be counterproductive to that.

Personally, I like to automate as much as possible. But i geuss human comparison will always be nessesary, as machines never catch everything

I thought one or two programs were mentioned in one of the tutuorials? Also, you could use multiple standards asie of each other so everyone could use their own.

Anyway, I wasn't so much thinking about moderators, but more about users who want to upload without spitting through the entire series of which they already have seen most of.
It also might save server traffic, as they won't have to download everything to build their own comparison template.

Or maybe it could help finding deleted pictures that need to be reuploaded again.

Although an alternative I've seen mentioned in other topics is creating torrent for long topics (IE 25 pages or more).

But you are probably right, it might indeed take a lot of time to keep this up-to-date.
