Why does the forum keep crashing my browser

Ever since that link started appearing in the top right corner, the forum crashes my browser almost every time I use it. Pages start behaving oddly, with areas turning black, and sometimes it affects the whole desktop and I end up having to reboot.

I don't know for sure that it's the new link but the coincidence is too hard to ignore.

    Anyone else having this problem?

it might have helped if you actually had mentioned which browser &amp version you're using.

members have reported problems with IE &amp firefox. i'm using opera 10 and i have noticed "issues" with the ad, but they're mere annoyances, not problems, for me. that is because opera has this awesome feature: "Site Specific Preferences". users can disable plugins on specific pages. users can also utilize the built-in adblocking capability as well as flashbock by extension.

I'm using IE7. Haven't actually tried it on Firefox but I might.

Are the problems others have reported similar to mine?

I reckon its no coincidence that your problems seem to be at the same time I cannot view pics in the fake contest section...not can some other members like nightlite.

Vdat was also having problems in that he was not able to post.

Sackett did post a message saying the matter was being looked into by admin

    Thanks for the replies guys.

If there have been other reports and it's being looked into then presumably there'll be a fix forthcomimg.

I get no problems when browsing the site with IE7 (7.0.5730.11 to be exact). What system you're running? XP SP3 here.
Do you have all the updates from windows update?
I'd also recommend scanning your system for viruses (with Avira for example)

Whenever I come here the page freezes up.

IE 7.0.5730.13, XP SP3 (or whatever's the most up to date - I lose track). I use a whole battery of malware checkers (Norton 2009, ESET, Malwarebytes, AdAware, SUPERAntiSpyware) and my system's clean.

i can't help but laugh when i read these types of things... when one could just use linux...
But if we all did that then it would be popular enough for malware designers to bother targetting it so we're doing you a favour really.

the advert thing might be interfering with a particular addon you are using in IE, i had alot of issues with particular addons and similar fold down things like on famousboard.

try disabling some unrequired addons to see if that is any help, otherwise i dont know

Can only make a negative remark, I'm a whore when it comes
to browsers using IE7;FireFox;Chrome and I'm experiencing
    no probs at all.
