yeah, i've been hearing about this and others the last few days.

i don't agree with him on everything, prolly not most. i don't listen to his show. however, it is stupid to be banned from somewhere for one's opinion. so much for free speech & thought.

"Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the communist party?" - Question asked to everyone visiting the US for 40-odd years. So if ones opinion is "From each according to his ability, To each according to his needs" it was apparently okay to ban them, but not if someone is a bigot?

To be honest I'm fine with him being banned. I'd never heard of him until he was banned, but everything I've turned up about him online tells me that he is a peddler of hate speech, and we have anti-hate speech laws on the books in the UK so frankly we dont want or need him. Not to mention the sheer hilarity of a right wing pundit complaining because the UKs immigration policys are too tight. Mr Irony does not pay Michael Savage many vistits, does he?

As for free speech and thought? You can think whatever you like, but even in the US there are limits on free speech (Shouting "Fire" in a crowded theatre being the classic example) and in the UK we choose to draw the limits of free speech slightly differently that the US. In the UK you cannot incite people to break the law or attack groups of people. I personally dont have a problem with that.

What I found funny was how he going to dispatch all those high paided 1st Amendement lawyers to argue his case and sue Jaqui Smith.

Someone needs to tell him that US constitution only applies in the US, although I get the feeling that might take some time and require pictures in crayon

He's not suing for 1st amendment violations, he's suing for defamation . He was put on a list along with mass murderers and terrorists that kill children. It's obviously defamation. Plus the lawyers will most likely be pro-bono.

To be honest, I'm waiting for one of the terrorists to sue because they were put on a list with a right wing talk radio pundit.

And I dont see how asking me if I hate him is supposed to invalidate my opinion; I'll freely admit that from all I've seen of him on the internet the man is a bigotted cunt. I hate bigotted cunts, dont you?

So you are dismissing me because I hate bigotted cunts making me a "hater", whereas he hates arabs, homosexuals, muslims, liberals and the UN... Yeah, obviously in this situation I am the "hater". Nice cognitive dissonance there...

    No, I don't hate you.

That word of the day toilet paper is really paying off for you, huh? No I am not omniscient, I just know how to read scientific journals. I can teach you if you ask me nicely, its not hard. No peer-reviewed double blind test of homeopathy has shown any effect beyond placebo, and no homeopath when offered a million dollar reward has been able to tell homeopathic remedies apart from... wait for it... just plain water. The dilutions used in homeopathy amount to one drop of "active ingredient" in an amount of water equal to both atlantic oceans.

So no, I dont know everything. But I do know that if someone is charging money for something that has never been shown to work in any well designed trial then they are running a con. The promoters of homeopathy are either self-deluded or deliberate scammers, either way they are dangerous as they can persuade people to put off seeking help from a real medical professional when they are ill.

I see what you did there. But you are wrong. A bigot is prejudiced against someone because of a group they identify them with. So for example Michael Savage hating gays, lesbians, muslims etcetera. He automatically hates them as a group without knowing anything about them. On the other hand I have read his opinions quoted by others and the words he himself chooses to use. I dont hate him as part of a group, I hate him as an individual. A special, unique completely objectionable snowflake if you will. I dont extend this hatred to other white heterosexual males (a group which includes me) or to republicans/conservatives (a group that includes several members of my family and friends. You can disagree with a person about politics or the economy without hating, belittling or insulting them).

Yeah, hypocrisy would be if I was saying one thing and doing another, for example if I was saying "Hes a bigot like all republicans" or "You cant hate him for hating gays! That makes you a hater!". Which I am not doing. Its not hypocrisy to hate someone for their personality and views while backing the laws on hate speech. If you think it is then you might want to read the laws in question and see what they actually say.

A detractor of Michael Savage, an admitted fecophile. ... Predictable.

    A real medical professional?

You're familiar with the Hippocratic Oath.

Vioxx ... Prescribed by real medical professionals

    Harmful

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) estimates that Vioxx may have contributed to 27,785 heart attacks and sudden cardiac deaths between 1999 and 2003.

    ----------------

Viagra ... Prescribed by real medical professionals

    Harmful

    Feds Eye Viagra-Blindness Reports.
May Alter Circulation To Optic Nerve

    ----------------

Gardasil ... Administered by real medical professionals

    Harmful

Negative side effects of Gardasil, a new Merck vaccine to prevent the sexually transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer, are being reported in the District of Columbia and 20 states, including Virginia. The reactions range from loss of consciousness to seizures. "Young girls are experiencing severe headaches, dizziness, temporary loss of vision and some girls have lost consciousness during what appear to be seizures," said Vicky Debold, health policy analyst for the National Vaccine Information Center.

Do you extend this hatred to all of Michael Savage's listeners that completely agree with him. ... Millions, that's a big group.
