Berlin, Germany - In an effort to combat slumping sales and recruit a new clientele demographic a Berlin brothel has come up with a novel promotion - they're offering discounts to people who can prove they arrived via bicycle or pubic public transportation.
The typical 45 minute session costs 70 euro, however, those patrons who can show proof of their alternative mode of transport will receive a 5 euro discount. They claim that due to the recession, this green-friendly promotion is bringing in new business to offset customers lost due to financial constraints.
"The recession has hit our industry hard," said Thomas Goetz, owner of the Maison d'envie brothel.
"Obviously we hope that the discount will attract more people," he added. "It's good for business, it's good for the environment - and it's good for the girls."
I'm not quite sure how it's good for the girls - although I suppose we must work under the assumption that the more peen they get up in them the better (getting) off they are.
As an added benefit Goetz claims that this green rebate has also been good for the neighborhood, alleviating traffic and parking congestion. Of course, the neighbors still have to put up with boner-sporting men wandering through the streets and the squeeking of old mattresses, but hey, at least they have some place to park now.
Germany is one of the few countries in the world where prostitution is legal, with some 400,000 prostitutes working in the country.
