    Update the search feature?

I think it would be cool if the search feature was changed so that you can search specific threads only and search for key words within the thread. It would cut down on the amount of time it takes to find out if content you want to post has already been posted or not. I have some Jennifer Love Hewitt pics from an Emmy's after party that are about 3 years old. I would have to go through dozens of pages to make sure they are not reposts. It would be better if I could just search "Emmy's 2006" in her thread.

i agree whole-heartedly. however, there is an "in-between" measure members can take that apparently a lot of people are not aware of: it is possible search individual posts instead of thread titles.

unfortunately there nothing that appears that can be done.............I have heaps of fakes which i am almost positive are not posted in some of the huge fakes threads but wont post them cos searching through 146 pages of sarah michelle gellar,100 pages of michelle trachtenberg just is too much hassle.

even if every post had the name of the fakir or the name of the event that the pic was taken at it would make no difference as it only shows the thread as opposed to the post.

It would make everything so much easier if it were available but unfortunately its not

either way its no use.........the in between measure is no good as how are you to know what member may have posted the pics previously.....

you know its possible to search by author right?

although i don't remember whether or not searching posts includes attachments. either way, like i said, it is kind of in-between...

I I screw this up Turtle will fill in missing info from when I posted my "Search Tutorial" some years ago in the "Christina Model" thread. I lost the original due to a trashed disk.

Enter the search string with asterisks before and after to act as "wildcards". Never found out if this helps but it's an industry standard in most OS's.

Click the button for "Search topic title and message text"

Below where it says "Return first" click "All available"

On the lower left side click "Display results as Posts"

It's a good idea to click on the forum name on the left side to further filter the search results.

This generally works and is the best advice I have for using Search here.
