Uploading more than 1 pic at a time.

Is there a way to UPLOAD more than one picture at a time?
If not, can we have the feature implimented, please.

I've just got 3/4 of the way through a set of 12 pictures and lost the thread through clicking the wrong button.
Clicking the back button just brought up an expired page of some sort.
Now I've got to start again.
Anyone out there on my side with this?

Oh the tales of woe that Gryph, Gardwin and I could tell. Back in the old days we would try to upload a 4 part, 20 MB clip, a 20 minute undertaking, only to have it be eaten by the board when we clicked SUBMIT. Things are a lot better now, and I agree that it would be helpfull ,now that we can have 15 attachments per post, to be able to upload a bunch of pics at once. Let's see if Q can put that on the TO DO list.

Cheers Bill, nice to know someone listens.
Let's look forward to an easier life for the people who do at least post some pics.

    Peace be with you \/

I don't know what any of that means. There is a host that Mike listed that allows 15 attachments at once

Would it work like that ?

If I wrote something, it would initially be a command line proof of concept like:
    Code:
    C:\Windows\Desktop> uploader.pl --username "Butler Bill" --password "rhelEfVa" --src-folder "C:\temp\brittney\" --topic 1489 --subject "Set 666 from example.com"
It would handle exploding rar's and uploading the individual contents... breaking up 60 pictures inot 4 posts...

after the bugs are worked out, a subsiquent version would probably be a java application that you can drag drop a folder onto.

This reminds me of some threads I've seen elsewhere discussing page/site ripping, etc. Lots of talk concerning scripts? and other jargon but I have no idea who is doing what or how. End result...I see literally hundreds of pics in one post, and am glad to have broadband when those come up. That seems to be overkill. Same for video captures. I've "mastered" a technique using a free program but it's kind of like here, pause and save one pic at a time. It's a lot of fun actually. I contributed 29 scans of Jennifer Lopez's "Monster In Law" this way on another board and was directed to another guy's post that held 527. Oh well. Quality instead of quantity I always say. I figure that guy's method probably took half of the time mine did. Just not sure what it was.

Advice for Turtle..hit the right button next time. It's pretty darn easy here. I tried the new improved, do more than the old 4-at-a-time and it went smoothly. Lots easier than logging in to a separate picture host, etc., downloading them there then hoping they show up here.
    Sig pic gone.

Another hint or two. Make sure to double-check the limitations regarding file types and sizes. I just got 1/2 way thru a new post myself and got totally kicked out because the next attachment I tried to add was too large. Resizing only took a minute and I was ready to go.
    Sig pic gone.

Another OOoops to look out for. Keep count of your attachments. 15 is the limit. The open "Add Attachment" window will appear even after 15 have been uploaded. Try to upload over the limit and again, all is lost and you'll need to start over.
    Sig pic gone.

Was there any progress on this feature?

I think any development issues like that are pretty much dead since Q left. Even if Mike asked, that stuff is way beyond my limited programming ablities.

you know i've often lost count when posting pix and after i go over 15 it takes me to that maximum limit exceeded page or whatever it says, i can't remember what it says at the moment, but...when i click to go back it takes me to that page not found page. anyway has anyone tried refreshing that page? when i've done it i've gotten a pop up where i then click retry and after a while i get taken back where everything i had uploaded is still intact. in some cases the last pic uploaded has vanished so i just have to upload it again.
just wondering if anyone else has done this in order not to lose everything and upload everything again?

Exactly the same here, patience is the key, I'm not only doing that when I'm over 15, but also when somehow an upload didn't work and I was kicked out, I do the same thing as you described and I never had probs...

When uploading, I have been kicked out for a number of different things caused by me and sometimes for reasons unknown to me. I usually hit the Back key then refresh and, at most, I may lose a pic but that is better than losing everything.

As for uploading multiple pics, at one time, that would certainly make it easy for me because I always try to post the limit (15 pics) with my posts.

Finally, I reported something yesterday afternoon about all of the links (MU, RS etc) disappearing from the Board. It happened again just before I came to post this message. I understand there is some experimenting going on (according to Spud). Has anyone else noticed this "phenomenon"? I added a link into this message and it does not show on my screen.

Mike is working on the board so links are visable to members but not guests. It is a work in progress and he has returned it to the old settings for now.
