    Good photo editing programs?

I was using photoshop trials for a while, but my trials expired, and I don't feel like dropping $120 on it just to make fakes. So can anyone recommend a good program for making fakes? Or at least a really cheap one? I downloaded the program gimp but i can't figure out how to use it and none of the shortcuts work. Guess i can't expect much since its free. But any good suggestions?

stupid conclusion. a lot of free software is much better than commercial software. heres a very wild & strange idea: make an attempt to learn how to use gimp. overall it is almost as good as photoshop.
