I posted some appreciative words of praise about a post yesterday, not long just a few words to say thanks and welcome a new faker to the board. Apparently the post was deleted. WHY. Have we now reached the stage where only the mods can interject a comment in a post? I would really like to know why my post was taken down. I understand we don't want long stretches of meaningless posts without pictures but this was not, nor was it anymore then what goes on all the time.

Usually we allow about six months for a Ty post to remain.
One of the main jobs we Mods carry out is going thro threads and weeding out old
Ty & emoticon posts. The reason being that our hard drive gets filled up and probs
start occurring..such as the recent crash.
As your complaint is of a recent post I can only think that an over zealous Mod just
blindly deleted it as he went about his chores.
Perhaps if you could give us more chapter and verse we may identify who did it and why.
My own practise is to publish a pic with my comment...Mods do not delete posts containing
pics.
Please do not assume that our purpose is to annoy members....we are fallible.

As a quick rule of thumb, if you want your post to last:
a) Add a picture - rarely do picture posts get deleted.
b) failing that, steer clear of the "Wow, thanks" type posts, as Spike says, after a few months they get dumped.
Try some constructive encouragement. Tell the poster why you like it, "Big Tits" ain't gonna do it.
c) Don't post a smilie only reply, these get deleted as soon as we spot them. Repeat offenders will also get a warning.

Long winded conversations between a couple of posters is frowned upon too, use the PM system if you want to have a chat.

well i didn't delete it or i would have PM'ed you unless it was the type of post that spike mentioned. even then, we usually let them go for a period of time.
