Replying to private messages

I've tried several times today to send replies to private messages, and each time I get this message went I hit the submit button:

Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 535 Error: authentication failed

The replies do show up in my outbox, but not my sent box, so I gather they are not being sent.

Any help would be appreciated.

We have noticed that this message also shows up when you post.
Admin is working on it.
