Garbiñe Muguruza
Garbiñe Muguruza Blanco; born 8 October 1993) is a Venezuelan-Spanish professional tennis player who represents Spain in tennis competitions and turned professional in 2012.
She has won three singles titles, most notably the 2016 French Open where she beat world number one Serena Williams in the final.
By virtue of winning her first Grand Slam title in Paris, Muguruza became just the second player of either gender born in the 1990s to win a Grand Slam title after Petra Kvitová first did so at the 2011 Wimbledon Championships.
The Spaniard hit her career-high ranking of world no. 2 after that tournament. As of 6 June 2016, Muguruza is ranked world no. 2 in singles and no. 30 in doubles by the WTA.
