Hollywood's most famous dancer, Fred Astaire, had numerous dance partners, but none comparable to Rogers. The duo appeared in 9 films together throughout the 1930s with one more a decade later(these have now been packaged as two very enjoyable boxed sets-although the first set is by far the best of the two). Rogers is, perhaps, the most versatile star to ever grace the Hollywood hills-a comedian, singer, dancer, and actress. Some of her more impressive screen credits include the great early musical '42nd Street', 'Gold Diggers of 1933', 'Stage Door' with Katharine Hepburn, 'Bachelor Mother', Billy Wilder's 'The Major and the Minor', and Howard Hawks' 'Monkey Business' with Cary Grant. All of these can be found on Turner Classic Movies-some on DVD. In the 60s, she appeared in 2 Jerry Herman musicals, 'Hello, Dolly!', enjoying a successful Broadway comeback, and, in London, 'Mame'.
